Britney Spears biopic set for Lifetime

While handlers soon began planning her every move, Britney found solace with fellow pop singer Justin Timberlake. A rep tells The Daily Mail that the icon "will not be contributing in any way, shape or form to the Lifetime biopic nor does it have her blessing".

Starring as Spears, one of the most recognizable musicians of her generation, will be Natasha Bassett, a rising actress from Australia, a Lifetime representative said. In 2001, she joined Aerosmith, "NSYNC, Nelly and Mary J. Blige for a legendary halftime performance that was made even more so by the arm sock Britney donned throughout the set".

Are you excited to see a Britney Spears biopic?

In her interview with BBC Radio 1's Scott Mills, Britney also revealed she has been stood up by a lot of celebrities, who have offered to work with her and then disappeared.

As anyone who has opened a tabloid this decade is aware, Spears has had real highs as well as some serious lows, which make her story ideal for Lifetime.

For Lifetime, meanwhile, Britney Jean becomes the cabler's latest high-profile TV movie.

She's releasing her ninth studio album, Glory, on Friday, August 26.

The turbulent life of Britney Spears - who went from teenage pop idol to tabloid fodder - is becoming a television biopic.

This year's Super Bowl - Super Bowl LI - is set to take place on February 5, 2017 at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.

Lifetime has a track record for awful movies that really should never have seen the light of day, but might Britney's movie change things a little?
