Ivanka Trump Will Be Neighbors With Barack Obama

Ivanka Trump Will Be Neighbors With Barack Obama

It is unclear whether the Trump-Kushner family has leased or purchased the almost 7,000-square-foot home, which has six bedrooms and last sold on December 22.

The brokers would not disclose the house's location.

Ivanka and her husband, Jared Kushner, have settled on a house in D.C.in the Kalorama neighborhood, just blocks away from the future Obama family residency.

Kalorama residents told the New York Times that the Obamas' property is undergoing extensive security renovations and there will be a security checkpoint at the intersection of Tracy Place and Belmont Road. There's a terrace off of the main bedroom, a library, sunroom and garden.

The boxy Colonial, built in 1923 and recently renovated, features hardwood floors and molding throughout, five wood-burning fireplaces, a formal dining room, and a white kitchen with contemporary-style cabinets and quartz counters.

Commerce Secretary nominee Wilbur Ross is reportedly in contract to buy a $12 million Beaux-Arts mansion in Washington, D.C., through the same company.

Washington Fine Properties' William F.X. Moody, who assisted with the transaction, confirmed the move to CNN Tuesday, though he wouldn't say if it was a purchase or a rental. Treasury Secretary pick Steven Mnuchin also bought a home in Washington with the help of the firm.

Calls to Washington Fine Homes were not immediately returned.
