Donald Trump's Awful Black History Month Speech Is Being Ridiculed

This is Donald Trump, speaking at a Black History Month event on Wednesday. The reporter corrected his mistake and issued an apology on the same day, but Trump still took the time to fume about the incident during today's speech. Can someone please ask him who Frederick Douglass was and what incredible job he did?

A few of the people who are part of the exhibit are Dr. Harry McDonald, who was the first black physician in Fort Smith with his own practice, and Lawrence Tidwell, who was the first African American police officer.

"I think until this Black History Month, a lot of times I think it's been about learning in the past, and this Black History month, I think it's going to be about taking action", said Juhanna. Throughout the world, if you really think about it, right? We have Lincoln, and we have Jefferson, and we have Dr. Martin Luther King.

The incident to which Trump is referring is a detail in a White House pool report that said Trump had removed the bust from the oval office.

On Wednesday morning, Trump still had him in mind. "And it was never even touched", he added.

The room full of press and supporters seemed to laugh at every comment made by Trump until he said, "I don't like watching fake news", which didn't draw much of a reaction.

And President Trump is facing criticism after he appeared to suggest that the great abolitionist and writer Frederick Douglass, who was born into slavery around 1818 and died in 1895, is still, in fact, alive.

Trump then gave a shout out to CNN contributor Paris Dennard for doing an "amazing job in a very hostile CNN community". "And it turned out that that was fake news". "Fox has treated me very nice, wherever Fox is. Wherever Fox is, thank you", stated the President of the United States. But of course, Trump wasn't going to get off that easy, as Twitter users got the hashtag #TrumpBlackHistory fired up, ridiculing his bad, awful, no good speech. "And we'll be honoring it more and more". "We're going to make it safe", he said of the "inner city".

According to pool reports, almost every person at the breakfast worked with the White House, the Trump transition team or someone in the Republican Party.

But in the meeting, Darrell Scott, a pastor with the Cleveland-based New Spirit Revival Center who campaigned for Trump, praised the president for his moves on combating inner-city violence in Chicago.

"There were people of colour here since the 1700s", said Scott Parsons, president of the Black Cultural Society of P.E.I.

The press release, however, does not say that Trump has changed the name of the month from its official designation as "Black History Month" in previous years.
