Harrison Ford Involved In Passenger Plane Incident at OC Airport

Harrison Ford almost flew his private plane into a passenger jet at a California airport on Monday, according to NBC News.

Harrison Ford had a "potentially serious" incident while piloting his private plane in an incident that is now being investigated by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), according to a report by NBC Nightly News.

Air traffic control recordings captured Ford asking "Was that airliner meant to be underneath me?", the report said. The plane was able to safely take off to Dallas shortly after the incident, according to NBC News. The actor was cleared to land on a runway at John Wayne and correctly read back the instructions.

This isn't Ford's first brush with a potentially unsafe airplane incident. Instead, his single-engine Aviat Husky landed on a taxiway that sits parallel to the runway and flew above a Boeing 737 on the ground.

Ford, a renowned aviation enthusiast who collects vintage aircraft, has had close calls while flying his planes before.

The FAA's investigation has yet to conclude, so the outcome of Ford's incident is still unknown.

In 2015 he suffered a broken arm and minor head injuries when he was forced to make an emergency landing on a Santa Monica golf course in a World War II-era airplane. John Wayne Airport officials did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Still, Ford remains an experienced and well-respected pilot. DEVELOPING: We will provide updates as they become available.
