Michael Floyd: 5 best fits in National Football League free agency

Michael Floyd: 5 best fits in National Football League free agency

Court records show Floyd made the guilty plea Thursday in exchange for the city prosecutor dropping other charges against him, including failure to obey a police officer and obstructing a public thoroughfare.

Bodycam footage showed officers approaching Floyd's auto at the intersection and needing a forceful knock to wake up an unconscious Floyd.

The Patriots spent considerable time talking about ways to get Floyd on the 46-man game-day roster, but they would have had to thin their special-teams ranks or possibly leave themselves short with their goal-line offense to do so. He was sentenced to 24 days in Maricopa County Jail, 96 days of house arrest, a $5,000 fine, and 30 hours of community service.

Floyd, who now is under contract but was playing for the Cardinals when arrested, was arrested with a blood-alcohol concentration of 0.217 percent, which is greater than 0.15 percent. The other six charges against him were dismissed. He was then signed by the New England Patriots.

At one point the cop has to actually hold Floyd's hands onto the wheel because the football player is copying his mannerisms.

He did not play in the Super Bowl, but after the Patriots' win, Floyd posted a defiant tweet that miffed many Arizona sports fans.

Floyd was cut by the Cardinals following his December arrest. "Oh well. I'm a champion!"

He was suspended indefinitely from Notre Dame in March 2011 when he was arrested while driving drunk. Twice he was cited for underage consumption. So far this season, he has caught four touchdowns, as well as 33 passes for 446 yards.
