Burger King owner loves that chicken at Popeye's, paying $1.8 billion

Burger King owner loves that chicken at Popeye's, paying $1.8 billion

The Company operates through two segments: TH, which includes all operations of its Tim Hortons brand and BK, which includes all operations of its Burger King brand. Now the RBI executives will turn their attention to Popeyes.

Kobza says RBI expects to brand's growth to accelerate in worldwide markets, with numerous development agreements signed within the last three years.

Restaurant Brands was formed in 2014 when 3G Capital-backed Burger King acquired Tim Hortons, the Canadian coffee and doughnut chain, for $11 billion.

Systemwide sales at Tim Horton's grew 2.4% in the fourth period and were up 8.5% at Burger King, as comparable sales rose 0.2% and 2.8%, respectively.

A number of equities research analysts recently commented on the stock.

Mr. Carter said RBI will probably downsize Popeyes' staff while consolidating back-office responsibilities such as real estate, legal services, marketing and product purchasing.

People are excited - really excited - about Durham's first Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen fast-food restaurant. It has more than 20,000 locations globally, and Popeyes would give it about another 2,600. "That's where you see the savings". Like Burger King, most of the stores are franchises. This deal could help boost Restaurant Brands International's sale as it will add a chicken-based chain to its already existing food items. While the stock price moved along with the volume change, shares are touching $78.99. "Our franchisees would agree", Dick Lynch, the company's chief brand officer, told BuzzFeed News a year ago.

"Popeyes is a powerful brand with a rich Louisiana heritage that resonates with guests around the world". "And our strategy will be much the same: to grow the size of the brand by working closely with existing and new franchise partners all around the world".

RBI is only now growing its Tim Hortons chain internationally, with three master franchise development agreements in the Philippines, the United Kingdom and Mexico, although "these agreements took longer to strike than investors expected, while no stores have been opened under these agreements as franchisees are building the supply chain", the Cowen analysts wrote.

"The result is a transaction that delivers immediate and certain value to the Popeyes shareholders", Popeyes CEO Cheryl Bachelder said in the press release. For example, sometimes purchasers of a franchised system increase the price of inventories and supplies and cut overhead that supports the franchisees. Total debt to equity ratio of the company for most recent quarter is 19.80 whereas long term debt to equity ratio for most recent quarter is 19.73.
