Is Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin Pulling Our Lego?

Is Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin Pulling Our Lego?

In the history of the United States of America, it has not typically been part of the job requirement for the treasury secretary to fawn over the president and go to great, nearly suspiciously over-the-top lengths to impress upon the public what great shape he is in.

The president changed his tune Thursday evening, providing lawmakers with an ultimatum: pass the American Health Care Act or keep the Obamacare system.

In a wide-ranging public interview event with the news site Axios, Mnuchin also said Trump's proposal to boost infrastructure spending would probably include $100 billion to $200 billion in federal money and depend on public-private partnerships to boost the total to $1 trillion over the next decade.

"I think we should look at putting President Trump on the thousand dollar bill".

"Since he got to the White House, he doesn't eat KFC anymore or McDonald's", Mnuchin explained.

Near the end of the interview, Allen asked Mnuchin some questions about his former career as a movie producer.

Two movies he labelled "misrepresentations" - "Wolves of Wall Street" and "The Big Short".

Mnuchin, however, wasn't done making questionable claims about the president.

"Seven more years?" Allen asked.

"I'm not allowed to promote anything I am involved in". Among the titles: "The LEGO Batman Movie", "Suicide Squad" and "Mad Max: Fury Road". Mnuchin said that he is thinking more about robots taking people's jobs, invoking the R2-D2 droid from Star Wars, saying that a self-driving vehicle network is "very different from artificial, you know, R2-D2 taking over your job". So I just want to have the legal disclosure that you've asked me the question and I am not promoting any product.

Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin says artificial intelligence is "so far in the future" that it's "not even on my radar screen".
