LG G6 Will Take On The Samsung Galaxy S8?

LG G6 Will Take On The Samsung Galaxy S8?

Samsung Galaxy S8 has just launched and the carriers are hoarding to lure as many consumers as possible. In fact, Samsung had to give a refund to all those who had pre-booked the smartphone last time around.

The tech giant's executives took to the stage at the Samsung Unpacked 2017, in London this afternoon to launch the new Galaxy S8.

The report describes that Galaxy S8 as having "the brightest smartphone display" that DisplayMate has ever measured, boasting levels of brightness 19% higher than those seen on last year's Samsung Galaxy S7. The Samsung Galaxy S8 will cost £689 in the United Kingdom and AU$1,199, while the Galaxy S8 cost even more which is priced at £779 and AU$1,349.

Besides a name change, Samsung lists a new feature called Ask an Expert, powered by American Well. The achievement is a result of extremely thin top and bottom bezels, curved screen sides, and new 18.5:9 aspect ratio for the display. The LG G6 Android is set to be $30-$100 cheaper compared to the Galaxy S8, depending on where tech enthusiasts intend to purchase, Phone Dog reported. The phones come with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, which is expandable. The listing shows no other hardware details about the device for now.

"The Samsung Galaxy S8 ushers in a new era of smartphone design and fantastic new services, opening up new ways to experience the world", said DJ Koh, President of Mobile Communications Business, Samsung Electronics.

The Galaxy S8 runs on either Samsung Exynos 8895 for models in Europe and Asia or the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 for models in the United States. The screen occupies approximately 80 percent of the phone's front, at least this is what the company claims.

THE front camera is getting a boost to 8 megapixels, from 5 MP, while the rear one stays at 12 MP.

"The Galaxy S8 series is built on Samsung Knox, a defense-grade security platform". For one, the phone's design was revealed to have changed slightly for the worse, with the fingerprint scanner now being beside the back camera, and not inside the screen as previously announced.

The Galaxy S8 is the first Smartphone to be certified by the UHD Alliance for Mobile HDR Premium, but the LG G6 also is certfied with HDR10 via Dolby Vision.
