Hit-and-run suspect was deported 15 times in 15 years

He had been on his way home from a trip to Disneyland with his parents.

A family made up of a mother, father and their six-year-old son were going home from a trip to Disneyland when, according to the survivors' family, a man in a pickup truck smashed into their auto and sped off, CNN reports. The truck then reportedly drove away, but Border Patrol agents found a damaged pickup truck matching the description the family gave them, according to KSWB.

The drunken driving suspect was a 38-year-old Mexican citizen who had been kicked out of the US 15 times in the past 15 years.

"The culture results came back today and unfortunately there is bacteria in the cranium, so Lennox will need to be in hospital on IV antibiotics for at least 10-11 more days", Lennox' family member explained.

Lennox's family, inclduing his parents who suffered minor injuries in the collision, are cautiously optimistic about his prognosis.

Last weekend, the deportation frequent flyer allegedly ran down Lennox Lake, 6, in a drunken hit-and-run crash.

A 38-year-old man is facing charges of driving under the influence, driving without a license and felony hit-and-run after he crashed into a family vehicle, sending a 6-year-old boy to the hospital, NBC San Diego reported.

On Wednesday, CNN reported that officials from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) had confirmed that Banda-Acosta had been deported 15 times since 2002, "most recently in January 2017".

His bail was set at $230,000.

Banda-Acosta remains jailed and it's unclear if he has a lawyer.

"People know exactly where to cross, when to cross, what time to cross, how to do all that", Sapochnick said. "[I hope] justice does their job and things work out the right way", Lake told Fox5.

Lennox sustained an open skull fracture with the location being slightly above his left eye.

"He asked me 'Why am I so jacked up?' " his father Benjamin Lake said while choking up.

The woman told the station 10News her estranged husband was deported from the U.S. on or around January 10, but returned 10 days later.
