A special backstage livestream will take place on Twitter starting around June 25 at 8:30 p.m. ET.

The 2017 BET Awards will be hosted by actress/comedian and SNL star Leslie Jones.

"I am so excited to be hosting The BET Awards this year", she said in a statement. The list of the performers include: DJ Khaled, Chris Brown, Maxwell, Big Sean, Mary J. Blige, Xscape, French Montana, Kendrick Lamar, Bruno Mars, Future, Lil Wayne, Gucci Mane, El DeBarge, Tamar Braxton, Swae Lee, Trey Songz, Roman GianArthur, New Edition, A$AP Rocky, and Kamasi Washington.

Singer and humanitarian Yvonne Chaka Chaka and social activist Ilwad Elman would also awarded with International Global Good Star and Power Awards. The 24-year-old rapper will join the likes of Jesse Williams, Al Sharpton, Muhammad Ali, John Legend and several others who have received the award in the past. Among her rivals in that race is her sister Solange who is nominated for "Cranes in the Sky". Bruno Mars follows with five nods including "Album of the Year, ' "Best Male R&B/Pop Artist, ' and "Video of the Year" for "24K Magic".

Nicki Minaj who is a seven-time victor for best female hip hop artist will face off against Cardi B, Missy Elliott, Remy Ma and Young M.A. How did our fave Cardi B. get nominated for BET's Nicki Minaj Award, aka "Best Female Hip Hop Artist" when you know they're just going to give it to Nicki!

The 2017 BET Awards will air Sunday at 8 p.m. EDT on BET.
