Pennsylvania murders: Killer used pig roaster to burn bodies, official says

Finocchiaro went missing on July 5, while the other three men vanished last Friday. Teens regularly circulated DiNardo's number, he told the newspaper.

During a deal to sell marijuana later in the night to Meo and Sturgis, DiNardo shot Meo, The Daily Mail said.

ABC accessed the court documents with the full confessions of DiNardo and his cousin Sean Kratz, who has also been arrested and charged for involvement in the murders.

The men will be at separate jails so they can not communicate with one another.

On Thursday, Cosmo DiNardo confessed to participation in what he said were the murders of four young men who went missing last week: Dean A. Finocchiaro, 19; Mark Sturgis, 22; Tom Meo, 21; and Jimi Tar Patrick, 19.

Investigators found the bodies of Finocchiaro, Meo and Sturgis in a 12-foot-deep grave Wednesday, according to the complaint.

Authorities said they are looking at pursuing homicide charges against a 20-year-old man who was taken into custody earlier on Wednesday (Thursday NZT) and whose parents own the farm. In exchange for that confession, prosecutors agreed not to seek the death penalty against him. Bucks County District Attorney Matthew Weintraub said he could not identify the other remains at this time, while issuing a fresh appeal for more help from the public. "We just don't know how many homicides".

"I'm not sure I could if we could ever answer that question", he said at a news conference Friday afternoon.

"I'm not really sure", Weintraub said when asked to explain the suspects' motives.

The Associated Press reported that DiNardo killed the four men separately after selling them marijuana and burned their bodies on the farm property in a brutal case that has captured national media attention.

At least some of the missing men are friends, but it's unclear how well they knew DiNardo, if at all.

Investigators located Patrick's body Thursday.

Patrick was shot to death by DiNardo on July 5 as the two were alone on the farm, prosecutors charge. Dinardo took Patrick to a remote area of the farm and gave him a shotgun - then shot and killed him with a 22 caliber rifle. He said he used a backhoe to dig the hole in which he buried Patrick's body.

He admitted to being with his cousin when they agreed to rob Finocchiaro and picked him up.

"I'm sorry", DiNardo said Thursday as he was led into a police van.

The three of them drove back to Dinardo's large property.

Kratz was arraigned through video conferencing conference at the magristrates office, before DiNardo was formally arraigned. He picked Patrick up and drove him to his family's 90-acre property.

DiNardo, 20, pinned one of the deaths on his cousin, who was charged Friday, although the cousin told police that DiNardo shot all four of the victims. Sturgis then attempted to run away, prompting DiNardo to shoot him until he ran out of ammunition. Dinardo said he then ran over Meo with the backhoe before using it to lift both bodies into a metal tank where he already had placed Finocchiaro's corpse, the court records say.

Dinardo allegedly poured gasoline into the tank and lit it, the complaint says.

"There was an attempt to burn the bodies, to obliterate them, but I don't believe that was successful", Weintraub said. Twenty-year-old Cosmo DiNardo of Bensalem has confessed to "participating in or committing" the killings, his attorney said. They have a construction company and cement.

DiNardo's parents declined to comment after leaving a government building where he spent several hours with the district attorney and other investigators.

Dinardo had been arrested Monday on an unrelated charge of firearm possession stemming from a February offense, Weintraub said.
