Citing user feedback, developer Respawn Entertainment claims that the blistering pace of the first game felt "super exhausting". The second round features the Amped Hardpoint mode, a slightly different take on the classic "control point" game mode wherein teams can defend a point they just captured to "capture" it a second time, called "amping" the point.
Other changes are coming to the HUD design and titan survival rates, but speed has been the biggest issue cited by longtime players.
A new blog post from multiplayer game designer Steven DeRose discusses these changes and reiterates what we'd heard previously-that the version of Titanfall 2 players played during the beta is based on a build that is "a couple months old". In the first game, you could sit on top of an enemy Titan, shooting at it and forcing the enemy Pilot to get out.
I think there's a lot of different types of people out there, and single-player games appeal to an audience who might not have bought a multiplayer-only game. Some of the issues that players have been reporting have already been addressed and will be updated for the second tech test the upcoming weekend. If they can give that battery to a friendly Titan, the Titan receives a shield and the Pilot gets Titan meter points. This is an area we will continue to monitor leading up to launch.
We'll have to see how McCoy's statements hold up when the game releases, but for now we're keeping our hopes high for another solid FPS campaign this year.

Up front, the studio stressed that the test build was a "slimmed-down view of the game", featuring fewer weapons, abilities, and maps than the full game.
Some of the changes include tweaks to the pilot wall-running system; as requested by players, pilots will now accumulate and retain more speed when wall-running, making it easier to chain wallruns together.
We're going to bring in the fade distance for enemy outlines so they don't reveal pilots at extreme distances.
Despite the divided opinions and the number of complaints running here and there after the first "Titanfall 2" tech test, gamers can hope for a better game when Respawn opens its second beta on August 26.
