Charger Daytona, upgraded with heritage sytling

As you might have guessed from the name, the Challenger T/A 392 replaces the 375hp 5.7L Hemi with the 485hp 6.4L Hemi.

The Daytona also boasts a rich history. Sadly, the Daytona stays automatic-only, but Charger buyers tend to be daily-driven highway warriors, which the TorqueFlite eight-speed suits perfectly. There are optional Mopar hood ring pins; a new 2.75-inch electronically controlled active performance exhaust system; and 1-inch wider 20×9-inch Mopar lightweight forged-aluminum wheels finished in Hyper Black II.

On both those versions, two new colours are offered: Green Go and Yellow Jacket. It also has a NACA duct hood created to feed a modified SRT Hellcat air box with a Mopar conical filyer, optimizing the car's cold air intake. The Super Track Pack upgrade brings about lowered suspension, Bilstein shocks, and three-modes of driver selectable stability control. The seats are beefier Nappa leather buckets, pairing perfectly with the leather-wrapped steering wheel. All you get is a black spoiler like on the Charger Scat Pack. The T/A Plus starts at $40,140 and the T/A 392 starts at $43,995 minus gas guzzler tax.

Opting for the more powerful Daytona 392 will cost consumers $46,090, or $4855 more than the standard auto. The new model has nothing to do with NASCAR, but it delivers even more performance in the 5.7-liter Charger line-up by offering nearly the same hardware enhancements as the T/A. A Mopar cold-air intake and 2.75-inch active performance exhaust system with 4-inch tips is included with the 5.7-liter V8, while 6.4-liter equipped cars also receive an intake along with a 3.09 final drive and 230mm limited-slip rear axle. Daytona graphics are embroidered into the seatbacks, while the gold stitching spreads to the console armrest and doors. Additionally, Dodge has thrown in content including driver's seat position and steering column memory, bi-xenon headlights, LED ambient cabin lighting and rear parking sensors. The Challenger T/A starts at $37,390 excluding destination in the US, and drivers can further upgrade with a T/A Plus or T/A 392 model.

On the outside, the Challenger T/A package includes dual "air catcher" headlights similar to the one found on the Hellcat Challenger, a stain black hood from the Challenger SRT 392 with a functional hood scoop that feeds air into the engine bay via a cold air intake kit, 20 inch black Mopar wheels wrapped in Goodyear Eagle F1 tires, Mopar hood pins, a satin black fuel door, a satin black rear spoiler and the unmistakable satin black T/A stripes on the sides of the auto. 392 models add the Hellcat's six-piston front and four-piston rear brakes, and bigger wheels and tires. Other 392-specific features include "392" fender decals, a 220-amp alternator, and a 180-mph speedometer. Consumers can order a Dodge Charger Daytona or Daytona 392 beginning next month.

The Charger Daytona will be orderable at Dodge dealers beginning in September, the Challenger in October.
