Arundhati Roy Now Turns to Indian Police for Protection

Earlier this month a large group of BJP Mahila Morcha activists pretested against Arundhati Roy’s seditious recent remarks on Kashmir. Arundhati Roy, who had previously spoken against Indian security forces, showing hypocritical behavior turned to the Indian police for protection.

Her husband, Pradip Krishen, lodged a complaint in the Chanakyapuri Police Station in uptown New Delhi and sought protection from protesters.

This is not the first instance of Arundhati Roy’s hypocrisy. While she is known to oppose India’s development on socio-environmental grounds, she and her husband have encroached and stolen forest land in Madhya Pradesh.

In 2003, Arundhati and her husband,were informed by Panchmarhi district administration that “a hilltop bungalow her husband owns near Panchmarhi stands on notified forest land and has to be pulled down…on grounds of violation of forest law.”.

Also named in the case was the sister of Indian novelist Vikram Seth and two forest officials. Arundhati’s husband bought the 4,346 sq ft (403.8 m2) plot in 1994.

    There is no contradiction in what Arundhati Roy is asking. There is no hypocricy. She denounced the actions of Indian security forces in Kashmir, not the police. Moreover, there is no ‘Indian’ police - there is police for every state. But, the Indian government has given the role of J&K police to Indian military forces. Actually, what left-liberals (like Arundhati Roy) want is the army to go and the J&K police to take over the security situation in the state (as it the case in most of the states in India). So, you see - NO CONTRADICTION. NO HYPOCRICY

    Seriously impressed by INDIA !! which can produce intellectual women like arundhati roy and kiran bedi , who can fight systems and look at them like hubble space telescopes, and dont need to go outside their country to criticize or change it !! but funny is the way other fellows of India are reacting to the truths … but my advise .. human right activists are like this only .. including the british anne besant , who supported Indian freedom …

    Have listened to her at Harvard .. and believe me … The reason why other countries will remain jealous of your country ,is perhaps no one can produce some one like Arundhati Roy … she contradict otherwise actual military image of india …
