This Michael Phelps Fan Actually Got #PhelpsFace Tattooed On His Leg!

Here are some you can't miss: In 2012, Phelps could only manage silver as Le Clos beat the American to take the gold. Now, that death stare is going to live forever, thanks to a Canadian fan.

Phelps made what has been dubbed the #PhelpsFace while watching South African swimmer Chad le Clos shadow box prior to the 200 butterfly semifinal on August 9. According to him, he had been inspired by the way he (Michael Phelps) has put himself up to go out and win. Ricky Fung is the first person known to have gotten the #PhelpsFace tattoo.

Livia Tsang, the tattoo artist that created the Phelps piece, told Global News the portrait was done on her boss.

"I don't know if the guy is watching", Phelps said, "but whoever got that tattoo, that tattoo is incredible". The story got even better when Phelps won the gold and Le Clos didn't medal at all.

"Aside from it being a amusing photo, my boss actually has a lot of admiration for Phelps' work ethic and dedication to his sport", she added, saying that it represented "perseverance and focus". "The photo obviously became satirized but for him it's more representational of perseverance and focus". Fung, the owner of Chronic Ink, plans on decorating his body other famous people and athletes as inspiration strikes.
