While it's a total bummer that Serena Williams didn't make it into the U.S. Open women's final, we'll still be treated to an awesome match between Karolina Pliskova and Angelique Kerber. In the meantime here's his match report from Pliskova's semi-final upset of Serena Williams.

Not to mention, Serena and Angelique in the finals would have given us yet another awesome Grand Slam matchup, as they met at the Australian Open and Wimbledon finals in 2016, the latter of which gave Serena her 22nd Grand Slam victory, tying the record of legend Steffi Graf, 47. Kerber last won on the hard courts at Stanford in 2015, but Pliskova actually owns the more recent win, and it came on a big stage.
