Reports of creepy clown sightings have been growing since the first report emerged in August in SC.
Clown sightings have been reported via social media in many Utah County cities, including Orem, Payson and Provo.
Someone posted of a reported sighting near the Ronald Reagan Sports Park, which is located about a mile from Rancho Vista, along with the caption "Clown spotted in Temecula!"
The latest advisory was issued by Fontana police on Wednesday after the agency received multiple reports of people dressed as clowns making threats against citizens on the heels of similar incidents nationwide. These sightings have occurred in Wisconsin, South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, Florida, Ohio, Tennessee, Missouri, Colorado, Oregon, and Texas. However, clowns did not kill 23 people in Canada, nor was a clown shot in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
The list then advises students on what not to do when spotting creepy clowns around campus, noting that "since wearing a costume is not a crime, any physical attack or harassment on such person could be a crime".
Wong said she consulted with Lincoln Police Chief Kevin Kennedy and Sudbury Police Chief Scott Nix about the situation and concern.

"Individuals dressing as clowns and engaging in threatening or alarming behavior will be immediately addressed by law enforcement", state police said in a Facebook post.
