Kevin Doyle Calls For Wanderers Winning Streak
Striker Kevin Doyle says Wolverhampton Wanderers must rediscover the winning habit “sooner rather than later”. Mick McCarthy’s side are currently five points adrift of the safety zone in the Barclays Premier League ahead of Saturday’s home match with Sunderland.
Doyle, who scored his first league goal of the campaign at Blackpool last weekend, knows they can ill afford for their recent dismal run to continue much longer.

Decent Run
The Republic of Ireland striker said: “It hasn’t been great with the results we’ve had but, sometimes, it only takes one win and you can see the bright side again. “If you get the win under your belts, it can act as a kick-start for a decent run. “Hopefully we can do that against Sunderland - but we know we need to do it sooner rather than later.
“It has been a while and it does cause a knock-on effect but we’re all working hard to try and ensure it will happen against Sunderland. “We also know the fans are frustrated - like us as players - and that is totally natural and understandable when you don’t get results. “But they won’t be frustrated if we win the game, simple as that.”
Wolves have acquired an unwanted knack of conceding early goals which Doyle says must stop. He said: “We need to start on the front foot and stay in the game as long as possible. “Having gone behind three games in a row, it’s important to start well.
“When you concede so early, everyone gets down - the players and the fans - and we are all on edge.”
