Liverpool set sights on Adil Rami
Liverpool are lining up a move for Lille defender Adil Rami after Jamie Carragher is ruled out for three months. Carragher dislocated his shoulder during the Reds’ 2-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur last weekend and his fears were confirmed when the Anfield medics decided he must undergo surgery. The long-term absence of the 32-year-old has given manager Roy Hodgson a massive headache in his defensive departments as Daniel Agger is still recovering from a calf injury.
According to The Sun newspaper, Hodgson has drafted his January shopping list which includes Rami, who impressed for France during their 2-1 win over England at Wembley. The 24-year-old’s strongest assets are his height, physical strength and free-kicks.
Meanwhile, Hodgson also has his eyes on Bolton defender Gary Cahill, who could cost the Reds at least £3 million to bring him to Anfield.
