The Thailand government may invest $ 5 billion in Bangladesh over the next three years, the country’s ambassador in Dhaka has said.
“Thai government has already invested $ 1.2 billion in Bangladesh to expand its trade,” Tassanawadee Miancharoen told reporters at a press conference at a city hotel on Sunday.
The press conference was organised on the occasion of the ’10th Thai Trade Fair-2011′, beginning on Apr 7.
Industries minister Dilip Barua is scheduled to inaugurate the three-day fair.
She also hoped that the fair would not only bolster the bilateral trade ties but also accelerate the exchange of technology.
