The International Olympic Committee promised to cooperate Wednesday with Brazilian authorities in the ticket scalping investigation that has targeted one of its executive board members.
The Irish Olympics chief Patrick Hickey has been charged by Brazilian prosecutors in connection to an investigation into the alleged illegal sale of tickets for the Rio Games.
He has instead appointed South Africa's Sam Ramsamy as the official representative of the IOC at the Opening Ceremony, but his absence means the sitting IOC President will miss the event for the first time since 1984.
The IOC tells The Associated Press it can not comment on the legal case against Hickey but adds "for the IOC it goes without saying that it will cooperate on this matter".
"All tickets sold by PRO10 as the Irish ATR for the Rio 2016 Olympics were sold fully in line with the ATR guidelines".
"We found enough evidence linking Hickey to this plot to sell tickets by a company that was not authorized", Kac told The Associated Press.
According to the Brazilian newspaper, police in Rio planned to speak to Mr Bach when he was scheduled arrive in the country on Tuesday.

Mr Hickey (71) was arrested on August 17th in a Rio hotel.
Police have said Mr Hickey plotted with businessmen to transfer tickets illegally to a non-authorised vendor that was allegedly selling them for high fees.
Police investigator Aloysio Falcao said authorities want to speak to Mr Bach about exchanges between him and Mr Hickey related to ticket allocations to Ireland.
The head of THG Sports, Kevin James Mallon, was arrested on 5 August as part of the case, but was also set free.
Hickey, who has stepped aside temporarily from his roles at the head of the OCI and EOC, is facing charges of facilitating ticket touting, the creation of a cartel, and illicit marketing. Rio police will communicate this to other governments but are not expanding their own investigation.
