Trump's Campaign Manager Says His Position on Border Wall 'Never Changed'

Change would mean that in hopes of appealing to more Latino and other voters of colors, he would lose the element of the Republican Party that has grabbed onto his candidacy out of love to hate those groups that are not white.

Salvia noted that after his talks with Pena-Nieto, Trump raised the possibility of using resources seized from drug cartel chiefs who were wanted criminals in Mexico as well as the United States to finance the construction of his proposed land border barrier.

On the day after he promised to enforce the law and deport immigrant lawbreakers, Trump sent new mixed messages. Just 27 percent responded with a positive word, such as "great" and "agree". Later that evening, Trump appeared in at a campaign rally in Phoenix where he went back to his old demagogue ways with a venomous policy speech that showed very little sign of a softening of his immigration stance. There will be no amnesty...

U.S. Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump's rants on illegal immigration has gone so far this time that the Mexican president called him "a real threat" and several of his Hispanic campaign partners are leaving. Immigration is Trump's signature issue as he battles Democrat Hillary Clinton before the November 8 election.

"Mexico will pay for the wall".

No pivot on immigration from Donald Trump.

He said all people in the United States illegally would have "only one route" to gain legal status if Trump were to win the November 8 presidential election: "To return home and apply for re-entry".

In fact, Trump's triangulation on immigration this week is a maneuver so cynical that perhaps even Bill Clinton would nod in appreciation.

Peña Nieto told Trump last week that Mexico would not pay for the wall.

Where President Obama has failed, Donald Trump will succeed. Not only did Trump not reach out to people who haven't supported him before, he virtually thumbed his nose at them.

But Nieto later tweeted that he had told Trump that Mexico would refuse to pay for the wall. He also has deported a record number of people during his administration. While illegal immigration from Mexico has been slowing and the US crime rate has been declining, he paints a picture of undocumented immigrants streaming across the border and overwhelming countless neighborhoods with violent crimes.

He said the easier path would have been to "cross my arms" and do nothing in response to Trump's 'affronts, insults and humiliations'.

"For me he should divide between immigrants that are here for a good thing and immigrants that are here to commit crimes", said Alponte.
