Manchester City have contested the FA's violent conduct charge against striker Sergio Aguero.
The Argentina worldwide faces the prospect of a three-match ban after being charged retrospectively by the Football Association for making contact with Reid's neck on Monday (NZT).
Speaking about the incident following the West Ham match, Guardiola said he was prepared to cope if Aguero was banned.
It's not the first time Reid's been on the receiving end.
The striker could face a ban, likely to be three games, if found guilty by the governing body, but City hope to overturn the charge altogether.

Aguero was initially given until 18.00 BST on Wednesday to respond to the charge, although he was subsequently granted a 24-hour extension yesterday due to the logistics of transfer deadline day.
If the club are successful then they will have the Argentine available for their next game, the Manchester derby at Old Trafford on September 10.
The FA had given Agüero until Wednesday afternoon to reply, but they chose to give Sergio and City an extra 24 hours to work on an appeal and contest the charge before the deadline.
An independent panel is due to rule on the case on Saturday (NZT) after the Football Association said referee Andre Marriner did not see the incident and made a decision to take retrospective action after reviewing television footage.
