The driver assistance company further said that it would not be making any comments in the future as it was against the company's policy to respond to such rumors and claims.
The spat between Tesla Motors Co. and Mobileye NV escalated Friday as the Israeli maker of advanced driver assistance systems refuted claims it severed the relationship with Tesla after learning the auto maker was going to work on its own software, and said it was pushing for more safety.
A few weeks after the first self-driving fatality, in a Tesla Model S, Mobileye chose to sever ties with the electric vehicle company.
Speaking about the incident, Tesla spokesperson Alexis Georgeson said in the company's statement: "Because of the damage caused by the collision, the vehicle was physically incapable of transmitting log data to our servers, and we therefore have no way of knowing whether or not Autopilot was engaged at the time of the crash". A Tesla spokeswoman had initially mentioned that, Mobileye never introduced its Autopilot as self-driving technology. No matter how you spin it, (Autopilot) is not designed for that.

When Tesla refused, she said, Mobileye "discontinued hardware support for future platforms and released public statements implying that this discontinuance was motivated by safety concerns". Mobileye now has issued a statement that the partnership between the companies ended due to a disagreement over the Autopilot feature. Mobileye develops computer vision and collision-avoidance systems for motor vehicles. Those changes and others, Musk said, would probably have prevented the death in May of a Model S driver using Autopilot, which thrust the technology into the pubic spotlight. Mobileye stock, down 9.7% since Monday, fell 0.35% to 39.68 on Thursday.
Tesla's Autopilot semi-autonomous feature will get a major update Wednesday.
"Just the fact he came out with something, I think would be a negative for the company and ultimately the stock", he said, though he later mentioned that Tesla's stock often doesn't react as expected. The latest update, AutoPilot 8.0, also adds far more data points through a new radar system and syncs all Tesla Model S and Model X cars to understand the roads better and avoid another fatal accident.
"It has always been Mobileye's position that Tesla's Autopilot should not be allowed to operate hands-free without proper and substantial technological restrictions and limitations", Mobileye said in its filing, which it said was made in response to inquiries.
