Giles, Astros lose 3-2 to Rangers

Derek Holland allowed five runs in 5 1/3 innings Wednesday night, but the Houston Astros needed a three-run eighth inning to hold off the Texas Rangers for an 8-4 victory that prevented a three-game sweep. He settled for a no-decision on August 7 after allowing one run and five hits in seven innings but suffered the loss on September 3, when he was hammered for five runs and eight hits in 4 1/3 frames. Pinch runner Delino DeShields scored two batters later on a single by Jonathan Lucroy. He also leads the AL in hits with 196.
According to ROOT Sports' , Astros manager A.J. Hinch "isn't optimistic" about Altuve playing Friday against the Seattle Mariners. The only base runner the Rangers had until the seventh was Carlos Gomez, who walked with two outs in the fifth.

"We need every win no matter who we are facing", Gonzalez said, "we need this game, the last couple of days were kinda bad and I think this is what we need to go from here".
In the previous two games, the team had chances at winning both and help close the gap in the race for the second wild card. Houston has a conundrum on their hands for what to do with the two in the long-term, but with just over two weeks remaining in the 2016 regular season, the team will need all hands on deck in order to make their second consecutive Postseason. The difference between them in the standings is 11 ½ games.
