Real Madrid want to make Toni Kroos the highest-paid German player in the world, according to reports in the midfielder's home country.
The German pass-master's previous contract was set to run until 2020, but he has been rewarded for his consistent excellence with an extended deal.
Kroos, who won the 2016 Champions League with Los Blancos, had his contract extension confirmed on the club's website on Wednesday afternoon.
Kroos joined Real in 2014 for an initial £24million from Bayern Munich, where he worked with Guardiola for a season.
