An Atlantic City police officer is in a critical condition and one of three suspects is dead after a shootout at Caesars Casino in the U.S. state of New Jersey.
Charged in the shooting are Martell Chisholm, 19, of Millville, and Demetrius Cross, 28, of Bridgeton. The wounded officer was shot and injured as he exited his vehicle. The second officer returned fire and struck one suspect.
Five others took off in different directions and remain on the run as an Atlantic City police officer remains in critical condition at Atlanticare Regional Medical Center.
The incident outside the Ceasars casino resulted in the fatal shooting by police of one of the suspects, identified as Jerome Damon, 25, of Camden.
Mayor Don Guardian insisted that the incident was not terror or gang related. Currently, Pacific Ave.is closed between Missouri and Ohio Ave.

The three men who were the robbery victims cooperated with investigators and were released, officials said.
Investigation by the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office and assisting agencies revealed that at 2:34 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, two uniformed Atlantic City police officers on patrol observed a robbery in progress being committed near the Caesars Atlantic City parking garage on Arkansas Avenue.
Sgt. Kevin Fair of the Atlantic City police said, "They went to stop a group of individuals". A representative of the NJ Cop Shot program told the outlet that the officers came under "immediate" gunfire. "And if you ever have an opportunity, please make sure you try to thank a police officer for their service to your community".
The New Jersey State Policemen's Benevolent Association offered a Dollars 20,000 reward for information on the remaining suspects in the shooting.
